In spite of a storm blowing through on Tuesday, we headed to Virginia Beach for Wednesday. It was a bit blustery, but still oh so worth it. My podiatrist said it was fine to be in the water and sand, but he said I should wear the boot to get from the boardwalk to the sand. I decided to get a brave shot of the boot (in an umbrella bag) down near the water.
Then I shed the boot, and I was able to dig my feet into the sand and relax. The sand felt so good… it actually was a pretty good exfoliate!
The girls had a lot of fun with their boogie boards, even though a strong riptide kept everyone from going out very far at all.
Rachel spent time getting photos… nice shots of herself,
… and some nice shots of me, for a change!
Chris and I got some shots of us together – something that doesn’t happen very often.
After the day at the beach, we picked up Rachel’s friend Emily M. and went to the Outback for dinner. What a bunch of goofballs!
This Virginia vacation also introduced us to the wonder of Sweet Frog frozen yogurt. We’re getting one in Hagerstown in July, we hear, and this might end up being a Very Bad Thing. Oh My.
The only downside of our trip was that Rachel and Becky had turned down my suggestions of sunscreen, saying that their darker skin would beĀ fine. Not so much, sadly.

Oh, wow. That sunburn look nasty. Poor gals. I love the pics of you and Chris together! Love you all.
